Hi, im a girl and im 16 years old and hes 23....i realy like him and i want t have sex with him but i dont want either of us to get in legeal trouble and he doesnt want to get int trouble either. we really want to abide by the laws, and we want to be in a realtaionship and have sex...we ahve know eachother for a while and we think we are ready for this, but we dont know if it is leagle in the state of rhode islans. so i was woundering if anyone can help me. IS it leagle for him(23) to have sex with him (16)becasue I am allowing it and i am not a virgin? COuld he get in leagle trouble? and if so what would happen? please i would really like anyones help that is out there...also if you are gonna be mean or give me a moral talk i will listen but cant guarntee anything will come from it. ANd if we will get into leagle trouble we wont do it adn we will just wait untill im 18. thank you for anyone who can help.

First the obligatory moral talk :-) -- just make sure you've spent some time thinking about sex and what it means.. And what it is.
Having said that, as I understand it, the aoc in RI is 16. That doesn't protect your boyfriend from all legal action, just the felony charges associated with statutory rape.
My advice? You risk nothing by waiting until you're legally an adult.
