F.A.Q
1. Why The Website?
Moral Outrage was started to address the need for statutory rape law reform and to provide updated information regarding those laws and the age of consent. Please note: this website does not condone, endorse, advocate, tolerate or promote discussions of pedophilia.
2. Aren’t there other websites already addressing this?
No other website currently provides up to date information and news regarding statutory rape laws. Other existing websites are horribly outdated, cosmetically deficient and littered with adult banner ads.
3. You’re advocating teen sex with older adults!
No . We’re advocating a change in statutory rape laws where sex is consensual for the protection of teens and young adults. Due to the sensitivity of this issue, people easily confuse the two.
4. Why the “moral outrage”?
It is outrageous to consider that statutory rape is the only felony crime a teen can willingly take part in with an older person but suffer no legal repercussions. When two teenagers engage in consensual sex they are not considered “victims” so how is it logical that when a teen knowingly consents to sex with an adult (and typically by lying about his/her age) that they are viewed as “victims” by the legal system? Consenting teens are not victims, period.
5. What’s the solution?
The first step is to recognize what the problem really is: teen sexuality. We need to stop spending taxpayer money making sex offenders out of college kids because of their high-school lovers and spend that money educating them on the values of abstinence and/or safe sexual practices. It is only through education
and parental involvement that the issue of teen pregnancy will see results.
